A savings to you with full benefits

Through out the State of Florida, Medicare Select plans are available. They do provide one additional benefit. That is lower cost. They are identical to the plans that we have discussed. The one exception is that they provide a discount for using Network hospitals in return for a lower cost to the enrollee. The Network hospitals are usually the major hospitals in your area and it is the one you would normally prefer. Being the better hospital, this seldom becomes an issue regarding the choice of a Select Plan.

You have at all times access to any hospital. You may use any hospital for Outpatient Care at any time. In the event that you need a Planned hospital stay, in your local area, they would like for you to use a Network hospital. If you are out of your local area, such as visiting up north, and need emergency care, use any hospital. Locally for emergency care , again any hospital any where.

Many will say that they want no restrictions on which hospital. Putting a bit of reality into the equation, Just how often does one actually go to the hospital? Not very often. Secondly is the cost factor. A Standard plan for any hospital will on the average, cost about the amount of the hospital deductible per year, more than a Select plan.

With a Standard plan, you will pay that higher amount regardless if you go to the hospital or not. For example: you pay for 5 years $1,024 more each year,( a total of $5,120) and then go to the hospital. Your supplement will pay the $1,024 for the first time in 5 years.  With a Select, your cost would be approximately $1,024 less than a Standard plan, per year. With your planned visit to the NON-network hospital, you would be responsible for the $1,024 deductible. A net savings of $3,696 to you. ($5,120 - $1,024 = $4,096 savings)
